Is NYC contemplating the creation of a new independent "building review agency"?

Assembly bill A01317 proposes to create a new "independent building review agency" in the City of New York to oversee the development and construction of projects within the City of New York.  The proposal of this bill begs the question:  if we need to establish a new independent building review agency then what is the New York City Department of Buildings doing?

  1. This building review agency can be helpful. A lot of research about what their responsibilities will be has to take place. We can't have them doing the same thing as the New York City Department of Buildings. That would just be a waste of taxpayers dollars. Anyway, since there is so much new york building construction going on right now, McGraw Hill's New York Construction Site is a great place to gather the information needed to make any project a success. They offer a lot of important information, including who is available for hire for different types of projects and what their credentials are, as well as what products and manufacturers would be best for each project. Though I now work for them, I have honestly used them myself for all of my construction projects, and I have always stayed within budget and on schedule. They are really worth checking out.
