NYC Increases Fine for Violating Stop Work Order

Contractors that violate stop work orders will feel the pain in their pocket a little more now that the City of New York has increased the fines for violation of stop work orders.  First time violations now carry a fine of $5,000.00 (up from $2,000.00)  and second time violations now carry a fine of $10,000.00 (up from $5,000.00).  The fines for the third and subsequent violations stays the same at $10,000.00 per violation.
